Superscript two

Superscript two: squared. The clean way to write m², ft² and x² in plain text where markup is impossible. Also the second footnote marker in the traditional sequence. Latin-1, so it renders everywhere — unlike superscripts ⁴ through ⁹, which need broader Unicode font coverage.
