Greek small letter pi

The circle constant, 3.14159… — arguably the most famous symbol in mathematics. Used for the constant itself, and in statistics for population proportions. Keep it lowercase: capital Π means something else entirely (the product operator context). Renders everywhere, but italic math styling requires the font, not a different codepoint.
