Negated set membership: x ∉ A means x is not in the set A. The slash is part of the single codepoint — don’t build it by overstriking ∈ with a solidus, which misaligns in most fonts. Common in proofs by contradiction and in spec documents excluding values from valid ranges. Space it on both sides like ∈ and =.
