A small outlined square, the empty counterpart to ▪, useful for light sub-list markers and legend swatches. Caution: like its filled partner it is emoji-capable, and messaging apps on iOS and Android commonly swap in the ▫️ emoji glyph. Being both tiny and outlined it is faint at text sizes; prefer □ where visibility or consistent rendering matters.
