Service mark sign

The service-industry counterpart to ™: it claims rights in a mark identifying services rather than physical goods, prior to registration. Once the mark is registered, ® replaces it. Chiefly seen in US usage, set superscript after the mark; many brands simply use ™ for goods and services alike.
